PotsdamPotsdam is the capital city of the state of Brandenburg in Germany. As of 2007, Potsdam had an estimated population of 148,691. Although Berlin was the official capital of Prussia and later the German Empire, the Prussian kings (later German Kaisers) used Potsdam as the location for their court, until the last Kaiser, Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicated in 1918. However, the city is most famous for being the location that the victorious allied leaders (Harry S. Truman, Josef Stalin and Winston Churchill, then Clement Attlee) held a series of conferences on the future of Europe in 1945.
